Dream Italia, http://www.dreamitalia.com/, is extremely proud to present this unique evening of handcrafted wine by Balistreri Vineyards, light movie snacks from Flavor Catering and Nosh Gelato, and the showing of the 1995 Italian film, Il Postino, winner of 5 Best Foreign Language Film awards, as well as the Oscar for Best Original Musical Score. English Subtitles. The film will be shown on the big screen under the stars, for a social, summer night event.
Movie Synopsis:
The life of fisherman Mario changes dramatically when the famous Chilean writer, Pablo Neruda, settles on his little Italian island. Living in exile because of his political beliefs, Neruda needs a postman to deliver the huge quantities of mail sent to him by his admirers and Mario takes the job since he hates fishing anyway. The two become friends and Neruda helps the shy and clumsy Mario gain the courage to approach Beatrice, the beautiful waitress at the village’s inn, by showing him the beauty and power of poetry.

We haven’t yet set the date for the next Italian Movie Night following Il Postino on July 26. We normally present several per year.
